Adams Select Board Approves Annual Licenses, Street Rename at December Meeting

ADAMS — December 3, 2025 — Adams Select Board approves sweeping annual license renewals and hears Greylock Glen Center drew nearly 2,000 weekly visitors this fall. At the December 3 meeting, the board unanimously approved all-alcohol, wine and malt, entertainment, common victualer, auto sales, and innholder license renewals for more than two dozen local businesses, each contingent on payment of applicable taxes; Baskam Lodge approvals in multiple categories were also made contingent on a spring inspection. Greylock Glen Outdoor Center Director Dan Doyle reported that October weekend attendance climbed to approximately 1,700 visitors with minimal advertising, a 1937 Steinway grand piano valued at $30,000 to $60,000 was donated and moved at no cost to the town by the Watazic family, and the center's newsletter list grew from under 100 to nearly 600 subscribers in three months. Superintendent Aaron Dean briefed the board on the newly formed Northern Berkshire Educational Collaborative — comprising Adams, North Adams, Mount Greylock, and Valley — which has secured a $100,000 state earmark from Representative John Barrett to fund an initial study that Dean estimated could ultimately cost close to $750,000 over a three-to-five-year process. The board also acknowledged the resignation of Emergency Management Director Amalio Jucino, effective January 1, 2026.
